Situated in the Samaria Valley, Twin Creeks is a very picturesque property nestled in the northern foothills of Mt. Samaria. Located 30km south of Benalla, in Victoria’s North East Region, it is within an easy drive of the best studs and veterinary care in Victoria.
Nick and Kate Taylor have been providing personalised agistment at Twin Creeks on a smaller scale for over twelve years. To further her knowledge, Kate completed the Advanced Diploma of Equine Management through Melbourne University, which has inspired her to strive for excellence in the management of her horses and property.
The Taylors have gone to great lengths to establish a professional thoroughbred broodmare and agistment farm. Twin Creeks is 280 acres of fertile creek flats and good rising country, which is progressively being sown down to an equine-specific pasture mix. The broodmare paddocks have excellent electric fencing and the yearling paddocks are 1400mm high post and rail. Twin Creeks is now able to offer a range of agistment, from 2-acre private paddocks, where individual horses can be kept close to the house, to paddocks of up to 15 acres where horses can socialise in groups.
The role of Twin Creeks is to provide high quality agistment, and the main objective is to promote growth and conditioning through good nutrition, careful monitoring and encouraging self-exercise by grazing on hills. No horse is overlooked or put out in the 'back paddock' and each receives the best of care.
Complete breeding management, including foaling down, walk-ons and specialised breeding of difficult mares, using the services of Dr. Angus McKinnon and the Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital, is available by arrangement. Weanling and yearling sales preparation is also available by arrangement.
