Property Details
|
- LOCATION: Situated in the heart of the Samaria Valley and midway between Mansfield and Benalla, Twin Creeks is well located, with easy access to the Hume Freeway.
- COUNTRY: Fertile creek flats, rising plains and sheltered valleys make Twin Creeks ideally suited to thoroughbred husbandry. The soils range from red through to brown loams with some areas of light clay. Red Box and Stringy Bark, the predominant mature trees, are scattered across the property and line the tributaries of the Samaria Creek.
- WATER: Samaria is renowned for its exceptional supply of pure spring water which percolates from the nearby state park catchment and is reticulated throughout the property. The Samaria Creek, which divides the northwest corner, has not stopped flowing since white settlement.
- CLIMATE: Located north of the Great Divide, Samaria enjoys early springs and temperate summers. The average annual rainfall is 1000mm and the mean daytime temperature is 22 degrees celcius.
- PASTURE AND FENCING: The paddocks have commenced a renovation program and are being sown with a proprietary equine pasture mix including cocksfoot, ryes, clovers, subclovers and herbs. The pasture is cross-grazed with cattle for parasite control and slashed to prolong the growth phase. The property is subdivided into a good selection of paddock sizes from 1 to 15 acres. All paddocks are double fenced with post and rail or electric fencing.
